Culture without limits.

Design Strategy

The Gog app is designed to be a bridge to culture and experiences, making them accessible to everyone regardless of physical limitations. The app's design direction is centered on inclusivity, employing technologies like Virtual Reality (VR), augmented reality, and live streaming to create engaging and accessible virtual tours of museums, events, and other venues. It will feature customizable aids such as audio descriptions, sign language interpreters, and adjustable text sizes to cater to various needs. Users can save their favorite experiences to a personal library and share them seamlessly on social media, fostering a connected community. The app will empower museums and venues to easily upload their content, transforming static virtual tours into dynamic, interactive experiences that can be enjoyed by a broader, global audience.

Design Future

How do we make culture more accessible?

Building upon the foundation of accessibility, my motivation for developing the Gog app stems from a firsthand observation of a critical need within the arts and culture sector. While working on a product focused on tactile experiences, I recognized that many individuals face significant physical and mental challenges that prevent them from leaving their homes. This inspired the vision for an app that not only offers enriching virtual experiences but also enhances on-location visits with essential aids. Gog is designed to serve as a comprehensive tool, offering features like multiple language options, audio descriptions, adjustable text sizes, and cutting-edge VR and live-streaming capabilities to ensure no one is excluded from cultural experiences. This project represents a personal commitment to inclusivity, aiming to open up the world of art and entertainment to a much wider audience, democratizing access for all.

Future…

Future iterations could incorporate haptic feedback to provide tactile sensations that correspond with virtual elements, allowing users with hearing or visual impairments to "feel" a masterpiece or the layout of an exhibit/experience. The app could also integrate with external assistive devices like smart canes and eye-tracking technology, providing seamless control for users with limited mobility. Gog can evolve from a simple booking and virtual tour app into a genuinely inclusive platform that anticipates and adapts to the diverse needs of every user.
